The munitionsschlepper .Pz.IV uses its winch to offload a 2.117 ton concrete piercing shell, which can penetrate 2.5 meters of concrete or 4 meters of armor plating. |
At a height of 3.05 meters the loading winch sets the shell down onto the glide rollers of the automatic loader. Only one-eighth of the shell is pure explosive. The round is 2.5 meters long. |

Before and after each shot the 28 ton barrel is thoroughly inspected to see if the 112 rifles with a total length of 5.068 meters has suffered any damage. |
The mortar is ready for firing. the ammunition vehicle has driven off, the crew has left the gun. Each barrel has a life of no more than approximately 60 shots. |
